Challenge:

With four decades of providing the highest caliber of insurance and risk management, Blakestad Insurance was preparing for some changes. In 2013, the company rebranded as “Blakestad” and moved from a north metro suburb to the North Loop area in downtown Minneapolis. The transition showed an ongoing commitment to meeting clients in their context, and the exciting future of the company. A new office build-out allowed more freedom to express the new branding.
As a client of the Rotating Art Program in their former location, Blakestad wanted to continue with this affordable option that would represent the new brand and location.

Solution & Impact:

The new office space was a build out from a 1917 industrial manufacturing facility with an open floor plan and semi-industrial feel. The Blakestad team decided to showcase artwork that brought in bursts of color, a rustic mixed media piece, and representational photography.
Today, in the completed office, the large original artwork brightens the conference room. A long hallway showcases original photography representational of the area, and the rustic mixed-media piece and other original works in individual offices give each space punch and personality. The work Blakestad chose not only enhances the new office environment—giving clients a better product—it also breeds a professional, modern appeal representing the new brand.
